“The Joint Committee on Finance is a statutory, 16-member standing committee of the Wisconsin Legislature. The Committee’s primary responsibility is to serve as the principal legislative committee charged with the review of all state appropriations and revenues” (committee website).
Senate Committee on Finance #

“(a) The members of the senate committee on finance are the senate members of the joint committee on finance.
“(b) When the joint committee on finance fails to report a proposal referred to it by the senate, the proposal may be returned to the senate by the senate committee on finance” (Senate Rule 20-4).
Note #
Per staff at Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau, it is extremely rare for individual Assembly and Senate Committees on Finance to meet. They almost exclusively convene as the Joint Committee on Finance.
