Congress 250
As we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we at the Levin Center have been giving thought to how we want to be part of the celebration of this momentous occasion. It was a congress after all – the Continental Congress – that initiated, debated, and signed the Declaration, and we want to use this year to highlight the role and power of Congress as the first branch of government.
So, on January 12th we are launching our “Congress 250” campaign featuring facts about the critical role Congress plays in our form of government. Our campaign will include “Friday Facts” – a social media posting every Friday on a fact about the strength and accomplishments of an effective Congress. Items will include everything from how the attendees at the Continental Congress viewed the role of a congress, to important acts Congress has taken over the years.
If you would like to contribute a Friday Fact to the campaign, please use the submission form below!
